The City of Evansville, Indiana passed an ordinance on February 27, 2013 that requires all single-dwelling and/or multi-dwelling rental property owners to register their properties with the City of Evansville.  The initial form must be completed and submitted no later than May 31, 2013, and by November 30 of each year thereafter, to avoid late fees that many be incurred. There is no initial fee to register.  Non-compliance with the registration requirements can result in a penalty of $100.00 per day.

Registration is required within twenty (20) days of becoming an owner.

Only one registration is required for each owner, regardless of the number of residential rental dwellings owned by the landlord in the City.   

Each time a new residential rental dwelling is obtained (or sold-off) by a property owner, the owner must update the registration within twenty (20) days of obtaining ownership

Registrations are not transferrable or assignable in any manner
