Education
Mr. Varney graduated from West Virginia University College of Law, where he served as Research Editor on the West Virginia Law Review. In 2009, his Student Note, Fighting for Respect: MMA’s Struggle for Acceptance and How the Muhammad Ali Act Would Give it a Sporting Chance, was published in Volume 112 of the West Virginia Law Review. Mr. Varney began his legal career as Law Clerk for the 24th Judicial Circuit of West Virginia. He has worked in various areas of the law, including personal injury, Social Security, bankruptcy, and creditor’s rights.
